Craniosacral therapy

Cranio =Cranium (the skull)

Sacral =Sacrum (bone in the pelvis that has originated from the fuse of five vertebrae)

What is Craniosacral therapy?

Craniosacral therapy is a treatment developed by John E. Upledger (D.O., O.M.M.). It is based on osteopathy. The basis of the therapy is to manipulate the Craniosacral system which consists of the cranium and the spine. The function of the Craniosacral system is to produce, recycle and re-absorb cerebrospinal fluid. The Craniosacral system is a physiological rhythm like breathing and the beating of the heart.

Craniosacral Therapy as a treatment

The starting point for the treatment is to find the problems in the body by observing the functions of the Craniosacral system. If there is a trauma, obstructions or imbalance they can be seen in the Craniosacral rhythm and can be treated by light manipulation technique.

Craniosacral therapy operates at the level of central nervous system. It is natural and tender, but still very effective way of caring for health problems.
